Chapter 6
Today was Defense Against the Dark Arts with the Slytherins. At the beginning of the year they had had a young idealistic woman hell bent on unifying the rival houses. After her first class with the Slytherin and Gryffindor Sixth years, she had retired and she was rumored to be in St. Mungo's for trauma. So by popular demand Remus John Lupin was reinstated as their DADA professor.
Remus started out the lesson by introducing the Darvious species. Remus said," the Darvious is a supposed 'dark creature'. Most Darvious don't associate with wizards so not much is known about them. "
" They rarely mature before their sixteenth birthday. There are two main sub-species of the Darvious. The feline and the nature. At adulthood they grow fangs,claws, and sometimes wings. They are extremely fast and they heal quickly. About a week after they transform a unique ability starts manifesting. Sometimes it is weather manipulation or precognition. Some though just get a power boost. "
"They can be very temperamental. If you ever need to figure out the mood of a Darvious look at their eyes. They change colors depending on their moods. If they are angry they turn blood red,sadness is a sapphire, pain is black, happiness and contentedness is their normal colors."
"They are extremely protective of their mates and babies. The submissives are mostly calmer than the dominants,The submissives will not hesitate to attack if their dominant or babies are threatened. The dominants are mostly the ones who are hot-tempered and rash. There is a documented case of a Darvious being attacked by a jealous would-be suitor in France. The Darvious' mate was caught in the crossfire and died from the wounds inflicted. The Darvious went crazy and slaughtered the attacker's entire family before being subdued by the French ministry's Aurors. The Darvious slowly wasted away,locked in a cell. Some who had seen the poor creature say he died from grief some also think he willed himself to die. After careful study by some researchers, who were allowed to study the colony of Darvious, found that if the mate is murdered or succumbs to injuries inflicted by someone,they are so consumed with revenge and once that is accomplished they either die or go insane."
"They had supposedly died out years ago." Remus looked at Harry silently asking permission to reveal him as a Darvious. Harry sighed and nodded at him to go ahead.
"They are wrong in that assumption. We have a Darvious in this classroom right at this very moment. Harry if you would please stand."
Harry stood and gave his honorary godfather a dark look promising retribution. He had always wanted a chance to try the spell to turn someone's hair purple.
Remus asked," When did you come into your inheritance, Harry?"
Harry smiled and said," two weeks ago today,Professor."
Remus asked," But that is not your birthday correct?"
Harry smirked and said," Oh it is,Sir."
Remus frowned and moved on from this line of questions. He asked," If it is not too intrusive would you please describe the transformation process?"
Harry nodded and said," I had fallen asleep in my common room and I had woken up at two thirty in the morning. At three the most horrendous pain hit me all at once. It was like being trampled by a hippogriff while being eaten by a manticore. I had fallen to my knees trying not to scream and wake my house-mates when the pain suddenly stopped. Needless to say I was pretty shaken up since I had absolutely no idea that I even possessed Darvious blood."
Hermione raised her hand when he had finished describing the transformation.
Remus nodded and said, "Go ahead Hermione."
Hermione directed her question to Harry. "I've read about Darvious,they are supposed to find their mates within the first week after the transformation. I was wondering if you had found out where or who your mate is." she looked at Remus. "Oh and is it true that if their mate doesn't live in the country they are in they will feel a subconscious pull toward wherever they are?"
Remus nodded an said," It is true."
Everyone turned back to Harry waiting for his answers to Hermione's questions.
Harry sighed inwardly and said," mates and they are in Britain."
Remus asked,"Mates,as in more than one?"
Harry nodded and waited for Remus to say something. Remus just stared at him in shock.
(Draco)
Draco was sitting in the third row listening to Lupin talk about his mate's species. Draco couldn't help but notice how good Harry looked in his uniform. He shook his head to dispel these distracting thoughts. He,Severus, and Harry had decided that until Harry was out of danger they would wait to reveal their relationship to the school. At Granger's question he snapped out of his thoughts and focused on Harry. Harry was smirking when he said he had more than one mate. Harry looked at him and silently asked him if it was okay to tell the class about them. Draco nodded minutely.
Harry turned to Lupin and said, " One of my mates is Draco."
The entire classroom gasped and turned to look at Draco.
Draco blushed and looked at Harry. Harry motioned for Draco to go stand beside him.
Draco stood and wandered up to wrap Harry in his embrace. He pulled the smaller boy back into him and rested his chin on his shoulder.
Weasley asked snidely, " So who's the dominant?"
Harry smirked and said, " Draco is my dominant."
The Weasel shouted, "What? You let a slimy snake top you Harry?"
Harry glared and retorted, "My life is my life Weasley. You have no say in who I let top me or who I top. If you ever dare to presume to know what is best for me you will find out the true meaning of pain."
Remus cleared his throat and said," Harry you may go sit down now. Draco I would like to ask you a few questions about being a mate to a Darvious."
Draco nodded and waited for him to begin the questions.
Remus asked," How did you react when you found out Harry was your mate?"
Draco said," I was surprised at first but I decided that there had to be a good reason we were mates. After I got to know him better I welcomed him as my mate."
Remus asked,"When did you figure it out?"
"The night he came into his inheritance. He was upset and I could feel it."
"How did you feel it?"
"I'm part Veela. Once we know who our mates are we can feel their emotions. If we are truly close to our mates we share a telepathic link."
Just then the bell rang and everyone left for dinner.
(Severus)
Severus walked to the Head Table and heard Lupin telling Black(who had been spit from the veil) about Harry. Severus didn't hear anything of importance until Lupin told Black that Harry had found his mates. Lupin was saying he only knew that Draco Malfoy was one of his mates. Severus felt slightly hurt at this. He knew he shouldn't but he did anyway. He knew he was being irrational. They had DADA together so Harry had probably been made an example.
Severus looked at Harry,who was making faces at Draco,who was giggling uncontrollably. They then looked at him as one and winked at him. Severus opened their links and told them to behave themselves.
Harry thought to Severus: I am behaving myself. Oh by the way I have Neville being followed by Dobby and Kreacher.
Severus asked: Where did you get the idea to use house-elves to spy on Longbottom?
I got the idea from Barty Crouch Sr. in my fourth year. He had his elf Winky following his son if he went out under his invisibility cloak.
Severus was impressed with his Slytherin like thinking.
All of a sudden Draco spoke up and started apologizing to Harry.
Harry,Love, I'm sorry I've been so horrible to you for so long. I was jealous that you favored the Weasel over me and I reacted badly.
Harry sent comforting feelings of love and happiness through the link to soothe Draco.
It's alright Draco. I wasn't exactly nice to you either.
This got Harry to thinking about his first year and how desperate he was for a friend, and had latched onto Ron for friendship. He thought to all the times Ron had abandoned him,and let him down. He though about how Ron hadn't noticed when he was scared,upset,nervous, or unhappy. He didn't care enough to see why Harry hadn't written to him or why he'd gone to his house thin and sore.
Severus scowled at the memories Harry was thinking of. Harry was remembering bars on his windows and several locks on his door and his "family" calling him a freak.
Draco was watching these memories and thoughts and they upset him greatly. Finally he'd had enough and couldn't stand it anymore. He stood up and made his way to Harry. He got to the Gryffindor table and went to Harry. Harry smiled at him while his house-mates glared at Draco. Draco hugged Harry and picked him up so he could sit down and then he made Harry sit on his lap. Draco wound his arms around Harry's torso and held on tightly. The Great Hall was silent as they watched the proceedings.
Through the link Harry asked Severus and Draco if they could tell everyone about Severus too. He told Severus the only reason he hadn't was that he hadn't asked Severus first. This went a long way to soothe Severus' fears.
They decided to wait until Potions the next day so they could shock everyone. Draco stayed with Harry all through dinner and after they waited for Severus so they could take a walk outside. They got outside and were sitting on the rocks near the bank of the lake when it started to rain. All of a sudden Harry started glowing and the rain stopped falling on them. Severus and Draco looked at each other and then at Harry. Harry blushed and looked down.
Draco said, " This must be one of your special powers Harry."
Harry shrugged and snuggled into Severus' lap. Draco curled up in Severus' side. They sat there snuggling for about an hour. Harry was warm and comfortable. All of a sudden the headmaster came sprinting from Hogwarts. Harry,Severus, and Draco stared in shock and silently watched Dumbledore sprint past them heading for the greenhouses. They silently followed him. Harry crept up behind him to see what he was doing. Harry's jaw dropped when he saw what Dumbledore was doing.
Dumbledore had opened a door in the greenhouses,the door was right behind a huge plant. Dumbledore looked around before slipping inside. Harry looked at his mates and got out his invisibility cloak. He cast an expansion charm on it,so it was more of a invisibility blanket, and they followed Dumbledore. They got inside and saw it was a tunnel. They continued down the tunnel and saw Dumbledore slip through a door. They silently followed and saw the inside of Madam Puddifoot's tea shop.
Harry scowled and they followed Dumbledore out of the shop. They saw him walking into a small cottage on the outskirts of the village. They slipped in behind him and they were met with the sight of Dumbledore and another man kissing wildly. Harry grimaced and looked to Severus. Severus looked completely disgusted. Draco looked morbidly fascinated. The couple broke apart and Dumbledore started talking.
"When all of this is over we'll be the most powerful men in the world. Once Harry Potter kills his parents, I'll kill him and steal his power and fortune."
"Mmm listening to you all powerful is so hot. Do you know how hot you make me?"
When the other man stopped talking they started kissing in earnest. Then the other man spoke up again.
"Do you remember how I said I wanted to have a foursome and you agreed?"
Dumbledore nodded.
"Well two other men are in here too and I was hoping we could do it tonight."
Dumbledore nodded and the other men came in. They all were stripping and they all started kissing. Harry,Severus, and Draco escaped the cottage and ran back to Madam Puddifoot's to go through the tunnel back to Hogwarts.
They didn't stop until they got back to Severus' chambers and then they all shuddered in disgust for what they had unfortunately seen. They decided to talk about what they heard in the morning since it was late and tomorrow was Sunday. So they all went to sleep and had really disturbing dreams about Dumbledore.
