Chapter 2
Harry stared at him."Inheritance?What am I?"
Snape looked at him."Judging by your wings and fangs I'd say a Darverius."
Harry looked like he would fall over at any minute. Snape guided him to a chair and Harry sat down. He could feel his wings vibrating madly,seemingly ecstatic to be near Snape.
"Sir?"Harry asked hesitantly.
"Yes,Potter?" Snape asked.
"My wings feel weird,They are humming and i can feel these links in my head."
Snape looked curious."How many?"
He concentrated and said,"two,Sir."
Snape looked shocked."When you concentrated i felt the links in my head flare."
Harry stared at him shocked.
(12 a.m.)
Draco woke up with a shriek when his wings unfurled. Blaise sat up and saw his best mate writhing on his bed. As soon as the pain began the pain stopped.
Blaise looked worriedly at him."Draco,what happened?"
Draco looked at Blaise and whispered,"I think my mate just came of age."
Blaise looked at him and asked,"can you tell who or where they are?"
Draco concentrated and said,"It's a 'He' and he's in the castle,as far as I can tell."
Blaise nodded and said,"Is he close?"
Draco nodded. Blaise got out of bed and told Draco to get clothes.
Draco asked,"why?"
Blaise rolled his eyes and said,"so we can track your mate."
Draco got his clothes on and followed Blaise out of the dorms.
They followed the pull on Draco's veela senses and ended up outside Professor Snape's private rooms. They listened to Snape talking and gasped when they heard Potter say,"I think my mate may be Draco Malfoy."
What they hadn't heard was the soft,"or one of them anyway."
Harry was sitting on Severus' couch,listening to Severus explain the darverius species. So far he only knew they needed mates to stay alive,and it was uncommon to have more than one. Harry mused aloud that nothing he ever did or ever happened to him was considered normal. Severus had accepted they were mates. He looked down at Harry,who appeared to be lost in thought,and inwardly smiled at how quickly he had accepted everything and how affectionate he was since learning they were all mates,besides he could hardly throw stones,as the saying went,when he himself was a merman.
Harry made Severus curl up next to him on the couch as he was played around with the links and attempted to open them. He managed to get the link to Severus to open and was trying to coax the link to Draco open,when Severus got up and opened the door,and Draco and Blaise Zabini fell in the fell on top of Severus so they fell in a heap on the floor. Harry started giggling.
Severus said in a patient voice,"Harry,dearling,would you please remove Draco from on top of me?"
Harry giggled and said,"sure thing,love."
Draco was immensely confused. Harry had wings,Snape called Harry 'dearling' and Harry called Snape 'love'.Draco got up off of Snape and sat in one of the chairs.
Severus asked them,"What are you doing out of bed at this hour,Mr. Malfoy?"
Draco said,"I was tracking my mates,Sir."
Severus nodded and went back to the couch and Harry curled up against Severus again,perfectly content.
An hour after Draco and Blaise arrived they discovered Harry was a submissive and Draco and Severus were his dominants;however, Draco had some submissive tendencies. Draco got up off of the chair he had claimed and curled up against Harry's other side. After almost fifteen minutes he was almost asleep since Harry was running his fingers through Draco's hair.
Blaise said to Draco,"I'm going to go back to bed,you staying here?"
Draco said sleepily,"yeah,goodnight."
Blaise said goodnight and left. Harry was telling Severus about how the sorting hat had wanted to put him in Slytherin but Draco had been a prat to him so he had begged for a different house. Draco fell asleep before he heard anything else.
Severus picked up Draco and they all went to Severus' bed and curled up together. Harry was snuggled up in the middle of the bed,with Draco curled against him on one side and Severus on the other. Severus asked Harry what had made him come to him of all people.
Harry said,"I can't explain it,I just thought about who could help me while keeping me safe and I thought about you and this sort of calmness sort of filled me."
Severus nodded and cuddled Harry. After about ten minutes they all were asleep.
